The Bespoke V12

Gordon Murray originally wanted Honda to build the engine for the McLaren F1, but their refusal paved the way for a legendary, bespoke BMW V12. Engineered by Paul Rosche, the S70/2 featured individual throttle bodies and produced so much heat that it necessitated 16 grams of pure gold foil lining the engine bay. A masterclass in instantaneous throttle response.

"To this day, I believe it is simply the greatest naturally aspirated V12 ever made."

- Gordon Murray

Frequently asked questions

What is the format of Speedster Magazine?

Speedster is a premium, quarterly print magazine. Issue 01 features 96 perfect-bound pages printed on heavy, 100lb uncoated art paper. It is designed to be collected and kept on your coffee table or garage workbench, not thrown away after a single read.

Is there a digital or PDF version available?

Speedster is strictly a physical, print-only publication. We believe these stories are best consumed with ink on paper, away from screens and algorithms.

How often does Speedster publish?

We are a quarterly publication, releasing four distinct, heavy-stock issues per year (Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring).

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, no. Shipping is strictly limited to the United States for now. As an independent publisher, our first priority is ensuring perfect domestic fulfillment before we take on the complexities of global shipping. We know the analog motoring community is worldwide, and we are working hard to open up international shipping for future issues.

What exactly is the "Founding 100"?

It is an exclusive, limited-edition offering for our earliest backers. By purchasing one of the 100 available spots, your name will be permanently printed on the Founding Members Page at the back of Issue 01. It is a way to directly fund independent automotive journalism and secure your legacy in our inaugural issue.
